-News Release-
The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center has announced dates for their 2025 recycling events at their facility on Lavender Drive.
In previous years, the Recycling Center hosted three electronics-only events, and three household hazardous waste and electronics combined events for a total of six events, but according to Floyd County Solid Waste Director Emma Wells, not accepting household hazardous waste at all events led to confusion among citizens.
As a result, they will host four events in 2025 where both are accepted on February 8, May 10, August 9, and November 8.
These events are free for residents of Floyd County.
Household hazardous waste items include liquids like used motor oil, paint, herbicides and pesticides.
Electronic items include computers, televisions, recorders, and most any peripheral-type equipment like printers and keyboards.
The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center has one final event in 2024 on this coming Saturday for electronics items only.
