The Field Naming Celebration at Georgia Highlands College is almost here, and we’re excited to have you join us this Sunday, October 20th at 3:00 PM for a free, fun-filled family event! There will be plenty of activities, prizes, and free giveaways for all ages.
Celebrate with us as we officially name our new fields in Cartersville after Carol Brown (softball field) and Cdr. Robert Bentley USN (Ret.) (baseball field).
Explore the new athletic complex while enjoying inflatables, yard games, and a variety of food trucks.
What’s in store for you?
- Learn more about the new athletic complex and GHC at our Welcome Tents! FREE GHC Squishy Ball for everyone who attends!
- Take part in an exciting game of Softball Bingo! Buy a Bingo Card and get a commemorative GHC Baseball Helmet Bowl.
- Watch our student-athletes rocket the ball out of the park! Buy a Home Run Derby Ball and receive a commemorative GHC Mini Wooden Baseball Bat.

Event Schedule:
3:00 PM – Welcome!
Start the celebration by visiting our welcome tent to claim your free GHC squishy ball and learn how to get your bingo cards and derby balls. Attendance to all events during the afternoon is free, but if you’d like to participate in Softball Bingo or the Home Run Derby, bingo cards and derby balls are available for purchase with proceeds benefiting GHC Athletics.
3:15 PM – Field Naming Ceremony
Celebrate with us as we officially name our fields after Carol Brown (softball field) and Cdr. Robert Bentley USN (Ret.) (baseball field).
3:30 PM – Inflatables, Food Trucks, and Yard Games!
Explore the new athletic complex while enjoying inflatables, yard games, and a variety of food trucks.
4:00 PM – Softball Bingo
Purchase a bingo card and receive a GHC Baseball Helmet Bowl as a keepsake as well as your chance to win a Savoy Family Membership,
5:00 PM – Home Run Derby
Watch our student-athletes hit it out of the park with the Home Run Derby! Purchase a derby ball to participate and receive a GHC Mini Wooden Baseball Bat. You’ll also have a chance to win incredible prizes, including a three-night stay at the Courtyard by Marriott or a Downtown Cartersville Package with restaurant gift cards, museum tickets, and more.
