Monday afternoon Floyd County 911 dispatch received reports involving a vehicle that had overturned multiple times in the roadway in an accident on Highway 53 in the Shannon area.
First responders arrived quickly to the crash that occurred near the intersection of Burlington Road in front of the Shannon Pharmacy building to find a silver Dodge Ram flipped upside down near the median.
One person was transported with injuries from the wreck by Atrium Health Floyd EMS as a result of the accident.
Traffic on Highway 53 inbound to Rome was briefly affected before the vehicle was removed from the roadway.
