A man recently convicted of murder is facing additional charges after he reportedly attacked jail officers on Friday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
34-year-old Jeffrey Alfred Shedrick was charged with terroristic threats and acts for saying “That’s why I’m going to get two or three more of y’all” after just attacking an officer, and sending the officer to the hospital.
Shedrick is also charged with felony obstruction, aggravated assault, battery, unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, and resisting law enforcement officers in a penal institution.
Shedrick was sentenced to life plus five years last Thursday for the March 2021 murder of Scott Dennis Hayes, who was shot three times in the back, including once in the back of the head in the woods between the Callier Forest Apartments on Dodd Boulevard and a Toyota dealership.
