Calhoun Healthcare on Highway 41 was evacuated due to an electrical issue Wednesday morning.
The Calhoun Times reports that firefighters got the call at around 8:09 a.m. and were able to locate a shorted electrical outlet that had caused light smoke in areas of the building.
Further investigation found possible extensive damage to the entire facility’s electrical system.
There was no fire and no injuries were reported.
Ambulances and vans from several medical facilities including AdventHealth Gordon and Redmond, Atrium Health Floyd, and CHI Memorial assisted in the temporary relocation of the residents to other area nursing facilities.
