A few more details have been released regarding a police pursuit Saturday that started in Polk County and ended in Haralson County with an officer-involved shooting.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, an officer with the Polk County Police Department attempted to stop a truck driven by 30-year old Willie Austin of Mississippi for driving erratically on Piedmont Highway.
The pursuit ended on Highway 27 in Haralson County when a Georgia State Trooper performed a P.I.T. maneuver on the truck.
Austin then drove the truck toward the trooper and Haralson County deputy, who fired shots into the truck.
Austin was injured in the shooting and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
No officers were injured.
A female passenger inside the truck was also uninjured.
