(Via WZQZ Radio) Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Rose Circle, Trion address on Monday morning shortly after 5 AM after a woman reported a domestic dispute in progress.
As a responding deputy was en route, Chattooga 911 reported that a man was trashing the inside of the residence.
When the deputy arrived on the scene, 37-year-old Rodney Marvin Hines yelled at the deputy and told him not to enter the residence because he had a .45 caliber handgun.
The officer drew his weapon and his taser and entered the residence. After telling Hines multiple times to get on the floor, the deputy activated his taser, striking Hines.
A woman at the residence told the deputy that Hines had gotten angry after she fixed him a microwave dinner.
The woman said she didn’t know why Hines was acting that way and that she was afraid for her own safety.
Hines was booked into the Chattooga County Jail and charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction of officers, and felony obstruction of officers.
