More charges filed against two people accused of meth trafficking

Two people arrested Tuesday on methamphetamine trafficking charges following the execution of a search warrant at an apartment on Redwood Street are facing additional charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

45-year-old Corey Lashon Chatman Sr. threatened to kill a law enforcement officer via a text message.

He also refused orders to put his hands above his head and get on the ground.

He is charged with terroristic threats and acts, three counts of obstruction of officers, failure to appear, contempt of superior court, and a probation violation.

Chatman and 35-year-old Jessica Noel Jackson are also both additionally charged with possession of Schedule I and Schedule IV controlled substances following the recovery of 30 Xanax pills, a THC vape, and other drugs.

Two charged with cocaine possession

Two people were arrested during a traffic stop on Hardy Avenue in South Rome Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A vehicle driven by 49-year-old Darrell Lamar Clowers was stopped for a brake light violation.

Suspected crack cocaine and a smoking device were discovered during a search.

Clowers and 44-year-old Misty Dawn Lopez, both of Rome, are charged with possession of cocaine, and possession of drug-related objects.

Lopez is additionally charged with a probation violation.

Teen accused of having vapes on school property

A Rome teen was arrested Wednesday at Pepperell High School on charges of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of a vape product in a school zone, and possession of a vape by a person under the age of 21.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

17-year-old Jaden Neal Patterson was in possession of a suspected THC vape and five nicotine vapes while on school property.

Warrant: Woman hid wanted man at apartment

A 31-year-old Rome woman was arrested Wednesday on warrants charging her with hindering the apprehension or punishment of a criminal and obstruction of law enforcement.

According to the warrants:

Christina Michelle Pugh hid a wanted person inside her apartment on Dodd Boulevard.

Man charged with card fraud

A 24-year-old Rome man was jailed Wednesday on two felony counts of financial transaction card fraud.

According to the arrest warrants:

Deandre Williams used someone else’s card to purchase $2.77 in food and $6.94 in cigars at the Circle K on Calhoun Highway on January 7.

Felon accused of possessing firearm

An East Rome man is facing a felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon following his arrest on Georgia Loop 1 at Garrison Road Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

24-year-old Trenton Tyrice Williamson was found with a firearm after he refused to exit his vehicle and give his date of birth to law enforcement.

He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of obstruction of officers.
