Authorities are still looking for a motorist who caused a fatal crash in Bartow County last week that claimed the life of a Rome man.

According to the Georgia State Patrol:

27-year-old Arthur Brandon Rutledge was on a 2023 Indian Scout motorcycle, traveling east on Highway 41 when an unidentified vehicle traveling north on Burnt Hickory Road ran a stop sign.

A vehicle in front of Rutledge swerved to avoid the car, causing a chain reaction.

Rutledge struck the back of a Jeep Wrangler and fell off his motorcycle before a Nissan Titan struck him.

Rutledge graduated from Woodland High School in 2015 before attending Georgia Highlands for two years. In 2018, he joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve. After completing boot camp in Parris Island and Marine Combat Training at Camp Lejeune, Brandon returned home to attend Kennesaw State University, obtaining a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as an engineer at Fizz Dispense Optimization Group, followed by a career as a tire design engineer at Toyo Tires.
