The Rome Police Department is investigating the robbery of a convenience store in West Rome early Monday morning.
According to the incident report:
Surveillance video showed a man entering the Citgo at 708 Shorter Avenue at around 6:44 a.m.
The suspect jumped over the counter and held the clerk down with one hand while grabbing cash out of the register with the other.
The man then left, running down North Hughes Street.
Approximately $2,440 in cash was taken.
