Floyd County Schools reported that a man has been arrested on one of their school campuses on Wednesday afternoon.
The following notice was sent out to parents of Armuchee Primary School students around 4:00 PM:
“At approximately 2:45 PM today, there was an arrest made on our campus. A gentleman, who was not armed or dangerous, entered the foyer in an attempt to check out his child.
Prior to this, law enforcement was aware of active warrants for this gentleman and school resource officers had made staff aware of the status of this person.
SROs were asked to be notified if the gentleman arrived on campus.
Out of an abundance of caution and with the mindset of keeping students away from the interaction, our car rider line was delayed.
We are so thankful for our SROs and staff who always take the safety of our students and staff seriously and for handling today’s event with such grace and professionalism. “
