Man accused of raping child
A Rome man has been arrested on charges of rape and child molestation.
According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:
36-year-old Christopher Shawn Johnson raped a female under the age of 16 at his residence on Chulio Road between July 1, 2023 and March 20, 2024.
Man facing child molestation charge
A man initially arrested on July 21 on charges of aggravated stalking and misdemeanor obstruction of officers has now been charged with child molestation.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year-old Christopher Kyle Graham of a Dodd Boulevard address in Rome committed an indecent act in front of a child under the age of 12.
The incident occurred at a location on Reeceburg Road in Cedartown back on July 18.
Woman arrested during traffic stop
A Silver Creek woman was arrested during a traffic stop on Dean Avenue Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Shana Michelle Reynolds was driving with a suspended license and with no insurance.
She told the officer she knew her registration was suspended and that she was driving to the tag office.
Reynolds then gave a false name and date of birth, writing down her sister’s name.
She was also found with MDMA and half a bottle of gabapentin, which she said belonged to a family member who was splitting the bottle with her.
In addition to the traffic charges, giving a false name or date of birth, and false statements and writings, Reynolds is also charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and possession of dangerous drugs.
Man accused of punching police officer in the chest
A Rome man stopped by police on Wayside Road at Calhoun Road for driving on the wrong side of the road is also facing a felony count of obstruction of law enforcement.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Andrew Paul Hart kept trying to open his truck door during the traffic stop after being told not to.
He then resisted arrest, punching the officer in the chest.
Hart is also charged with simple battery and open container.
