A fatal accident occurred on I-75 in Bartow County on Monday.
The Georgia State Patrol reported that a tractor-trailer was heading north on I-75 near mile marker 278.
For reasons yet to be determined, the truck veered off the left side of the road into the grass median. It then hit a cable barrier, crossed into the southbound lanes of I-75, and went off the roadway, crashing into several trees.
The collision caused the truck to catch fire, and the driver, who was trapped inside, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is currently under investigation, and the identity of the deceased is not released at this time as the next of kin have not yet been notified.
