According to a report by WZQZ Radio, a cyclist lost his life on Old Highway 27 in the early hours of Wednesday (July 3rd).
According to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader, Robert Dalton from Trion was riding his bicycle when he collided with a moped driven by a male.
Dalton succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The moped driver was transported to Atrium Health Floyd in Rome with injuries.
Sheriff Schrader stated that Dalton’s body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.
