On November 4, 2023, jail staff discovered an inmate unresponsive in his cell.
Jail staff initiated lifesaving efforts and he was transported to a local hospital.
Ultimately, lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.
As standard procedure, the GBI has been contacted to conduct an investigation.
To maintain agency transparency additional information will be released once next of kin has been notified.
