-CPD News Release-
On Thursday, November 2, 2023, at approximately 9:21 P.M., officers with the Cartersville Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance at 64 Ann Circle.
As soon as officers arrived at the residence, a male exited the front door and opened fire upon them both.
The officer’s patrol vehicles were struck several times, but the officers were not hit.
Officers returned fire striking the male several times and one other person inside the home.
Both subjects received immediate medical aid and were transported to Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center for their injuries.
Cartersville Police requested an independent investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
Cartersville Police will be conducting a separate internal investigation into the incident.
There is no additional information being released at this time.
