Tuesday afternoon children in the Rome/Floyd area got to celebrate Halloween a little early this year.
Downtown Rome hosted the free annual family-friendly event where kids (ages 12 and under) got the opportunity to trick-or-treat from downtown businesses and properties.
The Floyd County Historic Courthouse held a fun photo opportunity for families and individuals to snap a spooky selfie with Michael Myers. WRGA News spoke with Floyd County marketing specialist and assistant county clerk Amy Dawkins about their new Halloween social media campaign featuring the Halloween movie slasher icon.
The Downtown Law Enforcement Center had its own event in the downtown area. Rome/Floyd Public Safety and community partners hosted the “Treats-Not-Streets” event featuring a costume contest and more.
Meanwhile, the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation department’s Trunk-or-Treat event took place at Ridge Ferry Park. The event featured free candy, music, costume contests, and other events for safe Halloween fun.
