The Georgia Department of Labor reports that the unemployment rate in the Rome area dropped in September, checking in at 3.3 percent.
The jobless rate was 3.9 percent in August and 2.7 percent in September of 2022.
Bartow County also reported an unemployment rate of 3.3 percent in September, which is down from 3.7 percent the month before but up when compared to 2.6 percent in September of last year.
The jobless rate in Gordon County was down from 3.6 percent to 3 percent over the month. It was 2.5 percent in September of 2022.
Chattooga County’s rate fell from 4.4 percent to 3.7 from August to September. That’s also lower than the 4.1 percent reported this time last year.
Polk County checked in at 3.3 percent for September, which is down from 3.9 percent the month before, but up from 2.8 percent last year.
