A two-vehicle wreck Friday claimed the life of a Gordon County man.
According to the Georgia State Patrol:
The wreck occurred at around 10 a.m. on GA 61 at Ellis Road in the city limits of Cartersville.
The investigation determined a southbound Nissan truck traveled into the northbound lane and struck a Dodge Ram 1500 head-on.
After impact, both vehicles rotated counterclockwise and came to an uncontrolled final rest.
The driver of the Nissan, 50-year-old Steven Craig Herndon of Ranger, died at the scene.
The driver of Ram was transported by EMS to Piedmont Cartersville for treatment
