On Wednesday at 12:44 PM Georgia State Patrol troopers responded to a single-vehicle fatality crash involving a tractor-trailer hauling a yellow CAT excavator on I-75 northbound near mile marker 307 in Bartow County.
The GSP investigation reported that the driver experienced a tire failure which caused the vehicle to leave the right shoulder of the roadway.
The vehicle continued through the guardrail, down an embankment, and struck a billboard support pole.
The driver, who has not been identified at the time of this report, was found deceased on the scene.
The Georgia State Patrol added that the crash is still under active investigation.
