Monday afternoon Floyd County 911 dispatch received reports of a wreck on Turner McCall Blvd.
When first responders arrived at the scene they found a two-vehicle accident had occurred on the bridge over the Etowah River in the area near Home Depot.
According to 911 dispatch, one of the drivers involved in the wreck allegedly had fled from the scene on foot behind the nearby Chili’s parking lot.
The status of that individual is not known at the time of this report.
No major injuries were accounted for by the other party involved in the accident; however, the Bridge received some significant damage as a result of the incident.
The Georgia Department of Transportation was called to the scene to address the damage.
Traffic in the Northbound and Southbound lanes in the area was heavily obstructed as a result of the accident.
