The holidays may be over, but volunteers with Toys for Tots are already getting ready for Christmas 2023.
According to the Exchange Club of Rome’s latest newsletter, 2022 was another successful year for the campaign that provides toys for deserving children in Floyd, Polk, and Chattooga Counties.
This year 1,413 families (up from 935 in 2021), representing 3289 children, were served through Toys for Tots. Approximately 15,750 toys were distributed in the three counties served by Rome Toys for Tots.
The day after Christmas, Linda Hatcher and the Toys for Tots elves shopped the sales, and through some pretty savvy negotiations, purchased 366 toys with a retail value of $14,000, for $4,000.
