The Rome City Commission will consider a recommendation from the Alcohol Control Commission to suspend the alcohol and entertainment license for Peaches at 325 Broad Street for a two-week period when they meet Monday night.
The recommendation comes following a large fight at the establishment during the early morning hours of July 30.
One person involved in the fight was badly injured and another had a handgun.
In other action, the city commission will conduct a public hearing regarding a special use permit to operate an indoor gun range for property located at 1200 Dean Avenue.
It will consist of a 6,120 square foot addition that will include 10 shooting lanes, a classroom, a showroom, and additional storage.
Also Monday, the commission will recognize six Rome High football players for their actions following a wreck in front of the school earlier this month.
Treyvon Adams, Tyson Brown, Antwion Carey, Messiah Daniels, Alto Moore, and Cesar Parker will be presented with Good Samaritan Awards during tonight’s meeting.
The teens pried open the car door of the 50-year-old woman who was trapped inside, getting her out as smoke started to come out of the car, and fluid started to spill everywhere in the intersection.
Other items on the agenda include guest Ken Wright who will speak to the commission. There is also a proclamation that will be read for Firefighter Appreciation Month.
Monday’s city commission meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at Rome City Hall.
