First-time claims for unemployment insurance rose in Floyd County from December to January.
According to the Georgia Department of Labor, there were 330 claims filed during the first month of 2022, compared to 160 the month before.
There were 1,636 claims in January of 2021.
The Rome area reported 41,500 jobs in January, which was down by 500 when compared to the month before but up by 1,400 when compared to this time last year.
