A Floyd County woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash involving two tractor-trailers and a passenger car on I-75 Wednesday morning.
The wreck occurred at 4:22 a.m. near the Main Street exit in Cartersville and closed two of the four northbound lanes for several hours.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, a 2014 Toyota Camry, driven by 24-year old Blanca Estela Arteaga of Rome struck the rear of a 1995 Freightliner tractor-trailer.
After the impact, the Freightliner came to a controlled rest off the roadway.
The Camry stopped in the right northbound lane, with its lights not functioning, and was struck from behind by a 2018 Freightliner.
This second impact caused both vehicles to travel across the northbound lanes of the interstate into the median.
Arteaga suffered fatal injuries.
