The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for a number of counties including Floyd, Bartow, Polk, Paulding, in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday.
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
The affected areas include the cities of Rome and Cartersville.
The gauge at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport in Rome has recorded 1.53 inches of rain between noon on Tuesday and noon Thursday.
Meanwhile, 1.64 inches of rain has been recorded at the Cartersville Airport between 7 p.m. on Wednesday and noon on Thursday.
