Rome City Commissioner and former Rome Mayor Bill Collins is featured in an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution focusing on a new treatment aimed at reducing COVID-19 hospitalizations.
Collins, after being diagnosed with the virus received an infusion of a monoclonal antibody drug at Floyd Medical Center.
The treatment is for patients at high risk for developing complications that could lead to hospitalization.
After getting the treatment, Collins began improving.
He told the AJC, “When you are sick as I was, you look for anything to give you hope. And for me, it was the treatment.”
