(Via WZQZ) The Summerville News reported on Thursday that the Chattooga County Library’s merger with the Sarah Hightower Regional Library will be completed on November 1st.
Chattooga County Library Trustees say that the library could benefit with better resources by being connected to a regional library system.
The Sara Hightower Regional Library System is a system of four public libraries in the Northwest Georgia region serving Polk County and Floyd County. The headquarters of the library system is located in Rome, Georgia at the Rome-Floyd County Library.
When the merger takes place, the current board of trustees would continue to oversee the Chattooga County Library and one person would be appointed to represent Chattooga County on the regional library board.
Shelley Baker, a nine-year employee of the Chattooga County Library System has been appointed branch manager of the local library.
