(Via WQCH Radio) Dixie Color is moving their manufacturing operation out of Walker County, to the industrial park at Trion in Chattooga County.
The Town of Trion is giving Dixie Color 12 acres next to their other operation, Dixie Specialty Fiber, in the park. They plan to move Dixie Color from the present site in South Walker County, because they have run out of room for expansion. The operations make fiber and dyes for the carpet industry.
The new expansion at Trion will add 40 jobs when completed in just over a year.
In addition to the free land, Trion is giving the companies a 5-year tax abatement.
