A high speed police chase on US 27 occurred early Friday afternoon.
According to police on the scene, Polk County Officers coordinated with Floyd County Police department to chase down a driver of a white truck who was speeding in excess of 100 mph.
The driver of the truck was a 24 year-old Rome man, Cameron Kyle Ingram, who had an active warrant for Rape.
Police chased Ingram to Doyle Road where the driver of the white truck drove through a fence line into a pasture, and where his vehicle stopped.
The suspect then attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended by officers on the scene.
Thankfully no one was injured as a result of this incident (however a Polk County police car did receive some damage as a result of the chase).
