Authorities are investigating a Sunday fire at one of the abandoned buildings at the former O’Neil Manufacturing site off North Broad Street.
The fire occurred around noon.
According to a Rome Police report, one witness told an officer that she saw a man who hangs out around the old buildings with straw and a container of gasoline.
She added he seemed very agitated, and then the next thing she knew the building was on fire.
Another woman called the police to say that she saw two men and one female walking from the area where the fire was set.
They walked up the hill through Eagle Park toward Reece Street.
That caller also stated that the three subjects always hang out around the abandoned buildings.
