(Via WEIS Radio) The road was shut-down for several hours after an 18-wheeler hauling garbage overturned on the Chesnut Bypass near CVS in Centre Tuesday morning.
That Chattooga County Georgia Public Works truck was turning right onto the bypass from the Cedar Bluff Road, when it rolled around 10:00.
Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved. According to media reports out of Chattooga County – the driver of the truck was identified as Antonio Hart.
Chattooga County Public Works Director Joe Reed said that the aluminum trailer had to be totally unloaded before the truck and trailer could be righted. He also said Hart was taken to Floyd Cherokee Medical Center to be checked out following the accident, but that he had no injuries as a result of the mishap.
