On Friday afternoon the 5th annual Robert Weed Memorial Walk took place in the Marshall Forest off of Horseleg creek rd. People gathered to remember Robert Weed, and also to learn more about what grows in the Marshall Forest.
Berry College Biology Professor Martin Cipollini also guided walkers on the Marshall Forest trail in the event. Cipollini spoke on how to differentiate different species of trees, what trees are predicted to disappear over time, and how the forest could use a controlled burn to help clear the brush under the tree canopies and boost the population of the trees whose ecosystems are at risk of disappearing.
