Hollywood has come to Rome! Actor Steve Carell from “The Office” has been spotted around town this week. He dined Wednesday night at El Zarape Mexican Restaurant on Broad Street, ate at Schroeder’s New Deli on Broad on Thursday and then ate lunch at Bistro 208 on Friday. Where will he turn up next? The Rome Braves sent him a request via Twitter: Hey @SteveCarell, we heard you’re in town. What are the chances you’d want to throw the first pitch sometime soon?

Carell is one of the lead actors in the movie “Irresistible” now filming in Rockmart. According to IMDb, the film tells the story about a Democrat strategist who helps a retired veteran run for a mayor in a small, conservative Midwest town, and also stars Rose Byrne and Mackenzie Davis, among others. Comedian and former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart is the director. The movie is slated to be released in 2020. Stewart was seen scouting out locations in Rockmart in early March.
