Wall collapses at Myrtle Hill

ROME PUBLIC WORKS

Approximately 50 foot of marble wall fell from Myrtle Hill located on the South Broad side.

A few vaults ( with caskets in them) were exposed.

They were covered and protected with tarp overnight.

The city will have crews removing the marble and debris off of the sidewalk.

The sidewalk will be closed until the permanent repairs are made.

The city will look at using the marble for the repair of the new wall.
