Two arrested following fight on North Broad Street

Two men were arrested Saturday night following a fight at a location on North Broad Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 40-year old Desmond Derell Jett of an East 20th Street address in Rome used a box cutter to cut a man on the face, resulting in lacerations and stitches.

Meanwhile, 35-year old Davadrion Lavail Davenport of Lafayette, Georgia is accused of hitting Jett over the head with a liquor bottle.

Jett also had to get stitches.

According to police, all of this was witnessed by a child.

Jett and Davenport are both charged with aggravated assault and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.

Warrants have been issued for Joe Paul Atwater of Rome charging him with felony murder and aggravated assault in the shooting death of 26-year old Jonathan Lynn Hull.
