Atlanta man charged with burglary, theft and other crimes

A 29-year old Atlanta man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Wednesday on multiple charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Cortez Eugene Holloway entered a residence on Grove Avenue in Lindale on August 1 and took a Social Security card, a birth certificate and tax forms.

Holloway is also accused of taking a 2002 Chevy Impala from the residence, also on August 1.

He then fled from patrol officers.

On Wednesday, Holloway fled from deputies who were trying to serve him with a felony warrant.

The deputies had to force their way into the bathroom of a residence on Crane Street where Holloway was hiding.

He is charged with 1st-degree burglary, theft by taking a motor vehicle, 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, and three counts of misdemeanor obstruction of officers.


Man arrested on a fugitive from justice charge

Floyd County Police arrested a Cedartown man Wednesday on a felony fugitive from justice charge.

According to jail records, Lachancey Colan Williams was wanted on arrest warrants out of the State of Alabama.

Williams was found walking on Highway 156 near Floyd Springs Road.
