More than 150 nominations have been cast so far in the 2018 Harbin Hero Challenge and a strong list of great local charities are vying for the top five spots.

Some familiar names top the first leader’s list with Living Proof Recovery garnering 27 percent of the vote so far followed by Summit Quest (20 percent), Sweet Cocoon (14 percent) and the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia and Floyd County CASA each with five percent.

A couple of notes for voters, the charity must be an actively registered 501(c)(3). Also, voters are allowed only one nomination per social media account (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) for the entire contest, not per day.
