Woman charged with felony theft

A Silver Creek woman was arrested Tuesday on a felony theft by taking charge.

According to the arrest warrant, 28-year old Jessica Dawn Smith of a Bethel Church Road address took household furnishings from a residence on Townview Road and refused to return the items to the victim.

The alleged theft occurred on July 2.

The stolen property is valued at $12,000, according to the warrant.
 

Man accused of breaking into pickup truck

A 29-year old Ringgold man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday on a felony warrant charging him with entering an automobile.

According to the warrant, Andrew Jerry Collins entered a Chevy Z71 belonging to a Summerville woman, while it was parked at Redmond Regional Medical Center back on May 29.

He allegedly attempted to hotwire the pickup truck and went through the victim’s belongings.
   

 

Three arrested on drug charges

A call about ‘suspicious activity’ coming from a room at Studio 6 on Chateau Drive resulted in the arrest of three people on drug charges Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, a K-9 hit on methamphetamine and drug-related objects in the room.

26-year old Krissy Machelle Brand of Rockmart, 31-year old Keon Tywon Mathis of Cedartown, and Jada Brooke Miranda of Rockmart are all charged with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.
 

 

Man accused of violating Georgia's Sex Offender Registry law

A Rome man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant charging him with failing to register as a sex offender or failure to comply with requirements.

According to the warrant, 58-year old Alan Dennis Mobley was living in an apartment on East 9th Street but failed to register that address with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office as required by law.

He is on the Georgia Sex Offender Registry.
 

 

All registration packets received at each school by February 8, 2019, at 1:30 pm will be entered into the lottery process for each school if needed.
