Rome man arrested on multiple drug charges
Friday, June 22, 2018- 2:37 p.m. 
A 43-year old Rome man has been arrested following multiple charges involving drugs. 
According to Floyd County police, Shannon Dale Wheat of a Kings Ct. Address in Rome was found to have Xanax and Oxycodone in his possession at his residence. 
Floyd County police are also charging Wheat with Burglary and Criminal Trespass in addition to the drug charges.
No other details have been released at this time. 
Obstruction and DUI leads to arrest of Rome man
Friday, June 22, 2018- 2:38 p.m. 
Thursday night a Rome man was stopped by Rome police for a traffic violation. 
According to Rome Police reports 27-year old Jeremy Neshaun Walker was pulled over after not maintaining his lane. 
It was reported that when officers stopped Walker ran from the scene but was apprehended. 
Once Walker was back it was found that he was impaired by alcohol and marijuana, and on a license check, it was that his license was suspended. 
Walker has been charged with three counts of obstruction, tampering with evidence, DUI, loud music, suspended license and failure to maintain lane. 
As of 5 p.m., most of the power had been restored and most traffic lights are working again.
According to Floyd County Jail records, 29-year old Terina Marie Hooes began to stab a man with a knife during an argument on Reeceburg Road.
Avoid Maple Road in Lindale at the railroad tracks. A train is stopped, and the crossing arms are messed up. Traffic is at a standstill.
The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center is hosting an Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday at the Recycling Center in North Rome at 405 Watters Street.
